The Elevator Riders RC members and guests, rolled thru Texas on Friday and Saturday September 12th and 13th 2014. Club members from Illinois, Nebraska, New York, Iowa, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida were to attend this years Club ride. Perfect weather, sunshine and blue sky's for our ride was on hand. Our tour started at the AmeriTex Elevator Services Company in San Antonio, Texas. There were plenty of friends of the club that stopped by at the start to wish us a great time on the ride. After all the pictures, and well wishes, we were off riding west to the Hills of Texas.
Bandera was our first stop. Bandera was exactly what we pictured a Texas Cowboy town to be. We had some time to enjoy the famous OST restaurant and a picturesque Texas town.
Our second stop was Frio Canyon and it included lunch at a local biker restaurant. Some very hungry bikers hit this local stop. We were all treated to Texas BBQ and burgers for lunch. It was the perfect place to see remnants of the other bikers all over the place.
The ride through the Hills of Texas was an amazing adventure touring the famous Twisted Sisters Texas routes 337, 335, and 336. What a ride, and we did all three sisters.
We all headed towards Kerrville, and rolling thunder screamed into town before the sun went down. We all cleaned up and the first order of the night was to get our favorite beverage. We all had dinner at a local Texas steak house. Some of the finest steaks and atmosphere was enjoyed by all, which put us down for the night.
Day two brought a complete change to the perfect weather of yesterday. A cold front had dropped in from the north sending the temperatures down were some of our group were not prepared to take a motorcycle ride.
We sent everyone to a local shopping center for cold weather gear. On their return we now had the Decoy Ducks camouflage motorcycle riders. We were now ready for the start of day two. Our tour started back heading north to Fredericksburg. We were treated again to some of the most picturesque ranches and hill country of Texas.
Our lunch stop was to be in Bandera at a local favorite biker BBQ. We were disappointed, because the Banditos were reserving the place for their club. Not wanting any hassles with the Banditos, we were off to the best experience of the club to date. We arrived at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar. This place is a legendary hang out for Cowboy's. The atmosphere of this place was truly awesome.
We met a Cowboy named Q in the bar. He kept telling us these old cowboy stories and jokes. Then we all went outside to meet his bull Redneck. This is another moment that will live forever. Q took Redneck out of the trailer, and we all got to meet him.
We took pictures, and even took a ride on the big guy. Priceless moments in time forever!

We had some time to again enjoy the company of our fellow riders, and another picturesque Texas town. We all hopped on our bikes and rode east towards San Antonio. We all stopped for gas and a brief rest before we made out turn and headed back towards AmeriTex.

The two day ride was some of the best touring and companionship that anyone could have experienced. When we all come back, we will definitely tour more of the scenic hill country of Texas. San Antonio is a nice place to spend some time visiting with friends.
Special Thanks to AmeriTex Elevator Services and all the other club members for the well organized and beautiful tour of the Texas Hill Country. We all look forward to next years Elevator Riders RC club members ride in Boston, Massachusetts.
